Today I decided to stay home and make some yummy goodness for the Boyfriend while he works a 10 hour shift. Easy ingredients and I was done within a good hour!

I love the combination of everything a pate-chaud has to offer. Flaky and moist with a savory meat filling. The Boyfriend's mom is a wonderful cook. Over the years of being with him, everytime she makes these, I devour them like crazy. I've learned a lot of recipes from her but this is one of the Boyfriend's favorite. This recipe has a hint of curry, a nice delight to the regular.

[Curry Pate-Chaud , Boyfriend's Mother's Recipe] -- absolute perfection. simple & savory

[36 pate-chaud]

--ingredients:
2 pkg Pastry Puff Sheets
1lbs ground pork
1 small onion [chopped] or 1/2 large onion
1/2 tbs cornstarch
3 tbs water
3 tsp curry powder
1 tsp msg [optional]
2tbs soy sauce
1/2 tbs salt
1 tbs sugar
1/2 tsp pepper
2 eggs seperated in two small bowls.

Pre-heat over at 400 degrees, spray butter spray onto cookie sheet aside.

Thaw pastry sheets and cut into thirds, there should be a total of 9 squares.
Combine pork and all ingredients except for the two egg yolks. Mix well with hand.
Add about a teaspoon- 1/2 tablespoon of meat in center of pastry square and fold diagonally. press edges with fork for a pretty appearance. brush egg yolk over pastries a nd place on cookie sheet and place in oven.

Bake for 20-25 minutes and VOILA!

I also make the regular pate-chaud, instead of 3tsp of curry powder, replace it with a can of pate. You can find it at your local oriental grocery market.

Enjoy!
